The DC public holiday falls on April 16 but is observed on the closest weekday when it falls on a weekend.

Through 67 years, Tax Day has fallen outside of April 15 over 26 times.

Emancipation Day will postpone the IRS deadline again in 2023.

Taxpayers in Massachusetts and Maine have till April 19 to file taxes thanks to Patriots' Day on April 18.
