US gold prices fell 1% on September 22, as the US dollar rallied.

This has come after the Federal Reserve flagged additional rate hikes and diminished the zero-yielding metal’s appeal.

US gold futures were down 0.4% at $1,668.20.

Investors are expected to favor other interest-yielding assets in a high-interest rate environment.

Spot silver decreased 1.2% to $19.36 per ounce.

Platinum slipped 0.6% to $902.02.

Palladium fell 0.4% to $2,145.60.
