Will Amazon's The Rings of Power trump HBO Max's House of the Dragon?

'The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power' is set to release on Amazon Prime Video on September 2.

However, fans will get to see the first two episodes in theaters days before.

Amazon has teamed up with Cinemark to screen the debut episodes  on August 31, for one  night only.

The series is a prequel to 'The Lord of the Rings' and 'The Hobbit'.

The series will showcase JRR. Tolkien’s fabled Second Age of Middle-earth’s history for the first time.

The cast will include Cynthia Addai-Robinson, Robert Aramayo, Owain Arthur, Maxim Baldry, Nazanin Boniadi, Morfydd Clark and others.

HBO Max's 'House of the Dragon' was released on August 21 on Amazon  Prime Video.

Since GoT’s prequel caters to adult audiences and the LOTR prequel to a younger crowd, the franchises may not clash.
