The Crown pauses final season filming 'out of respect' for Queen Elizabeth

Following the death of Queen Elizabeth, ‘The Crown’ creator Peter Morgan said Season 6 "will stop filming out of respect".

However, the silent tribute is for an undetermined period of time.

Morgan shared that 'The Crown' is a love letter to the Queen.

The Netflix show had already planned what would happen if the Queen were to pass away while they were filming.

Season 5 is set to premiere on Netflix this November. It will cover events throughout the 1990s.

The estimated production budget of The Crown has been reported to be $260 million.

That makes it one of the most expensive Netflix television originals ever.
