Scooby-Doo’s Velma is finally revealed as a lesbian

Videos from the animated special 'Trick or Treat Scooby-Doo!' have been making the rounds on social media.

In a major reveal, Velma has been depicted as a lesbian.

One viral moment shows Velma's first encounter with costume designer Coco Diablo.

In the video, she can be seen tracking Diablo's looks and is instantly mesmerized by her.

Google also celebrated the moment by showering the screen with confetti and LGBTQ+ flags on queries such as 'Velma'.

This development has come two years after James Gunn said he tried to make Velma gay in the 2002 live-action adaptation of the show.

The animated series Scooby-Doo has been adapted and appeared in five feature-length films since its debut in 1969.

The franchise has earned more than $480 million since its release.
