Vladimir Putin announces partial military mobilization for Ukraine

Russian President Vladimir Putin has ordered a partial mobilization to reinforce his troops in Ukraine.

He also warned NATO that Russia could use any weapons in its armory against Western powers backing Ukraine.

The announcement comes days after some Russian-controlled areas in Ukraine announced plans for referendums on joining Russia.

According to reports, Russia plans to call up about 300,000 people who have had military training.

Previously, the Kremlin launched a massive recruitment drive, offering huge financial incentives to people joining the campaign.

Russia's initial invasion force in Ukraine in February numbered about 190,000 troops.

Russia spent over $65.9 billion on its military expenses in 2021.

As both President and Prime Minister of Russia, Vladimir Putin has a net worth of $70 billion.
