Tennis legend Roger Federer announced his decision to retire from the sport after Laver Cup 2022.

"This is a bitter sweet decision because I will miss everything the tour has given me," he said in a statement on social media.

The 41-year-old winner of 20 Grand Slam titles has been out of action since a quarter-final loss at Wimbledon in 2021.

Federer won his first grand slam in 2003 after winning  the Wimbledon title.

Since then, he has won win 6 Australian Open, 1 French Open, 8 Wimbledon and 5 US Open titles.

The tennis star has been struggling with a knee injury for a long time.

He is at third position in terms of the total number of grand slam titles won, behind Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic.

As of 2022, Roger Federer's net worth is estimated at an impressive $550 million.
