Queen Elizabeth II dies at 96: End of an era and net worth 2022

Queen Elizabeth II has passed away at the age of 96, the Royal Family announced on September 8.

Buckingham Palace said that the longest-serving monarch of Britain died peacefully at her Scottish residence in Balmoral.

The 73-year-old Prince Charles is now king. Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, is now Queen Consort.

All of the Queen's children traveled to Balmoral after doctors said the Queen needed medical supervision.

The Queen was born Elizabeth Alexandra Mary Windsor, in Mayfair, London, on April 21, 1926.

She was crowned on June 2, 1953, at Westminster Abbey, in the nation’s first-ever televised coronation.

While the Queen has an estimated personal wealth of $520 million, the family has a combined net worth of $88 billion in 2022.

The crown controls approximately $28 billion in assets through the Firm, known as Monarchy PLC.
