Pinocchio on Disney+: What's different in Tom Hanks live-action remake

The world's most famous wooden boy is getting a computer-generated makeover in the newest 'Pinocchio' movie.

Disney made a live-action remake of the studio's 1940 movie 'Pinocchio'.

Robert Zemeckis directed the movie, casting his 'Forrest Gump' star Tom Hanks to play Pinocchio's woodworker father Geppetto.

The movie even added a handful of new characters to the story, including a seagull named Sofia and a young girl named Fabiana.

The movie omits the original movie's standout track 'When You Wish Upon a Star'.

The biggest change from the original is the ending. In the animated movie, Geppetto returns home with a lifeless Pinocchio after escaping the whale.

The Blue Fairy then revives the puppet and turns him into a real boy.

In this movie, we hear Jiminy Cricket in the voiceover that no one actually knows whether Pinocchio ever became a real boy.
