Free-to-play Overwatch 2 is set to release on October 4 on both PC and console.

It will release at East Coast 3 pm (EDT) and West Coast US 12 pm (PDT).

It is mandatory for players to create a Battle.net account and set up two-factor authentication.

New players are required to play 100 matches to unlock the entire roster. It will already be available for returning players.

Ahead of the Overwatch 2 launch, players can start pre-loading the game.

The download size will be around 50 GB on PC and around 30 GB on consoles.

As of October 4 morning, Blizzard has shut down Overwatch 1 servers.

People attempting to log into the game will receive a message that Overwatch 2 is on the way.

Overwatch has more than 10 million total players and 500,000 people playing the game daily.
