Oral thrush: All you need to know and how to prevent it

Oral thrush is a type of yeast infection that usually develops inside your mouth.

Also known as oral candidiasis, it often occurs in infants and toddlers.

However, it can occur at any age if you don't practice healthy hygiene

It results in white or yellowish lesions or spots inside your inner cheeks, tongue, gums, lips and roof of the mouth.

It is possible to pass the fungus that caused the oral thrush on to someone else if you kiss them.

Your doctor may prescribe an antifungal medication to treat oral thrush.

Practice good oral hygiene and brush your teeth regularly to prevent oral thrush.
