What is special about the Golden State Warriors' championship rings

The Golden State Warriors are the defending NBA champions once again.

They kicked off the 2022-23 season with a final celebration of last season's championship.

Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green received their 2021-22 NBA championship rings.

This is the first championship ring that primarily uses yellow diamonds as it represents the Warriors' golden age.

The ring consists of 16 carats of yellow and white diamonds featuring the Warriors' logo on top and each player's number.

One side of the ring features the player's name while the other side features "Just Us," a Warriors motto.

A piece on the side of the ring can be twisted to reveal a compartment that shows the Larry O'Brien Trophies each player has won.

The rings are reported to be as expensive as $100,000 per ring.
