Inflation is 'stressful' for almost half of US households: Poll

Inflation is very stressful for almost half of US households.

The Census Bureau included a new question about the impact from soaring prices in its regular household poll.

Nearly everyone was at least a little stressed by inflation, and particularly so in fast-growing cities like Miami, where the cost of living has surged.

The survey also highlights disparities among ethnic groups.

Over half of Hispanic and Black communities find inflation “very stressful”, compared to 43% of Whites and 38% of Asian Americans.

More than 40% of households have reported having a hard time covering usual expenses.

To ensure households aren’t overspending, now is a good time to check if the monthly budget is sufficient to meet needs.

Keeping spending within the budget may mean you have to cut certain extra things such as entertainment, travel or dining out.
