How to power clean? Your guide to the whole body workout

Power clean is an extensive whole-body movement broken down into several phases.

It requires appropriate coordination between several muscle groups. Here are the phases:

In the starting position, it is important to set up yourself for the movement.

In the second phase, maintain a natural curve in the spine and strong torso, extend your hips and knees and drive the bar off the floor.

Distribute the weight throughout your entire foot.

In the transition phase, thrust your hips forward, bend your knees a bit and shift your weight toward your feet.

In the second pull phase, keep the bar close to your torso and rapidly shrug your shoulders to pull your arms and body under the bar.

In the fifth position, drop into a partial squat position and keep your torso erect. Gradually, your body will come under the bar.

Complete the rep and then rotate your hands back around the bar to remove it from your shoulders and clavicle. Set up the bar for the next rep.
