Planeload of immigrants land at Martha's Vineyard: Who is responsible

Florida's Governor Ron DeSantis is taking credit for sending two planes carrying immigrants to Martha's Vineyard.

According to a statement from his office, it is a part of the state's program to send migrants to "sanctuary destinations."

Martha's Vineyard, in Massachusetts, is a resort and popular summer island destination for Hollywood celebrities.

The island has a population of around 20,000, with former President Obama having his holiday homes in the area.

About 50 migrants, including children, arrived at Martha's Vineyard without any warning, said Massachusetts State Senator Julian Cyr.

He added that officials and volunteers ensured all measures to set up the response for migrants.

Earlier, buses dropped off 75-100 migrants from Texas near Vice-President Kamala Harris' residence.

With a net worth of $319,000, Ron DeSantis doesn't own property and continues to pay student loans.
