Gas prices today, September 23, 2022: Cheapest state prices

Gas prices are witnessing a fall in recent months.

The average price of gas is 3.09 dollars per gallon on September 23.

California still tops the chart for the highest gas prices at an average of 5.52 dollars per gallon.

Hawaii is second and Nevada third.

The US state with the lowest gas prices is still Mississippi after replacing Texas ($2.53).

Louisiana is still second and Georgia third.

Many states have switched to using the less expensive winter-blend gasoline.

However, California is yet to make the switch, scheduled to happen in November.
