Gas Prices Today: Cheapest state prices in September 2022

Gas prices in the US continue to increase in September 2022.

Here is a list of the cheapest places to find gas in the 10 most populated cities in the United States.

At an average of $5.44 per gallon, California has the highest gas prices in the US, followed by Hawaii ($5.28) and Nevada ($4.93).

Mississippi has the lowest gas prices in the country, overtaking Texas where the average cost is now $3.10 per gallon.

At $3.14 per gallon, Louisiana has the second cheapest gas price, followed by Georgia at $3.16.

High demand for crude oil and a limited supply has pushed the gas prices up to record levels this year.

During Covid-19, demand for gasoline plunged with stay-at-home orders keeping people away from the road.
