Elon Musk warns Twitter employees of 'difficult times’, ends remote work

Elon Musk has warned Twitter employees of "difficult times ahead" as remote work comes to an end.

In an email to Twitter staff, Musk wrote changes would be difficult and there was "no way to sugarcoat the message".

Musk discontinued remote work and will be requiring employees to be in office for at least 40 hours per week.

Musk expects at least half of Twitter’s revenue to come through a subscription service and his new verification fee.

He is also banking on content creators to monetize their pages to supporters.

"Please note that Twitter will do lots of dumb things in coming months. We will keep what works & change what doesn’t," Musk wrote.

This comes days after Musk took over Twitter when the $44 billion deal finally went through.

Musk continues to remain the wealthiest person in the world with a net worth of $197.4 billion.
