Elon Musk texts reveal what led to Twitter deal before it fell apart

Elon Musk interacted with a small circle of Silicon Valley's tech giants, which resulted in the Twitter takeover.

According to reports, the messages were part of court filings in the process of the court battle over Musk's Twitter deal.

The series of messages include Musk's exchanges with Twitter founder Jack Dorsey as well as current CEO Parag Agrawal among others.

In the messages, he discussed the importance of free speech, assembling finances for the deal and other issues related to Twitter.

Dorsey, who stepped down in November 2021, also discussed taking Twitter private with Musk in late March, in the texts.

Twitter and Musk are due to contest their cases in court on October 17.

In April, Musk proposed to buy Twitter for $54.20 per share in a $44 billion deal.

The Tesla and SpaceX CEO has a net worth of $263.2 billion in 2022.
