Elon Musk says Donald Trump will not be back on Twitter before the midterms

Elon Musk confirmed that the Twitter account of Donald Trump will not be restored ahead of the US midterm elections.

Musk was answering one of the biggest unknowns following his takeover of the social media company.

Musk also confirmed anyone who was de-platformed for violating Twitter rules will not be allowed back on the platform yet.

Before acquiring Twitter for $44 billion in late October, Musk had pledged to roll back a few of the platform's content moderation policies.

The world's richest man intends on permanently doing away with permanent account bans.

He had also specifically said he would restore the personal account of Trump.

Trump, who previously used Twitter to make news and attack critics, is glad Twitter is now in “sane hands".

After Trump was banned from Twitter, the Trump Media & Technology Group created 'Truth Social'  a social media platform in October 2021,

Trump claimed that despite Elon Musk's Twitter takeover, he's sticking with Truth Social.
