A 7.6 magnitude earthquake shook the west coast of Mexico on September 19, 2022.

Coincidentally,  major quakes have rattled the country on the same day years before.

One person was killed in the port city of Manzanillo, Colima, when a wall collapsed at a mall.

The news came on the fifth anniversary of the 2017 earthquake that killed 216 people in Mexico City.

The earthquake hit just after 1 pm EST, near the coastline in a sparsely populated region of Michoacan state.

Now, a Tsunami threat with waves reaching up to 3 meters (9.8 feet) are predicted to hit Mexico and along the Pacific coasts of Colombia.

Power was out in parts of the city, including stoplights, snarling the capital's already notorious traffic.
