Cartoon Network is not shutting down, says Warner Bros after layoffs

Warner Bros laid off 82 staffers across scripted, unscripted and animation divisions and eliminated 43 open positions on October 12.

This led to rumors on social media that Cartoon Network would be shutting down for good.

However, the company has confirmed its plans to merge Warner Bros. Animation and Cartoon Network Studios.

The company clarified that Warner Bros. Animation and Cartoon Network Studios will continue to exist.

It will be managed by Sam Register as part of the company’s “new streamlined structure".

Cartoon Network Studios has created some of the most iconic cartoons since its establishment in 1994.

As of January 2021, Cartoon Network is worth $23 million.

One of the most powerful studios in Hollywood, Warner Bros has an estimated worth of $6 billion in 2022.
