Can fasting make you live longer?

Can fasting make you live longer?

Fasting has positive effects on risk factors for aging, diabetes, autoimmunity, cardiovascular disease, neurodegeneration and cancer

However,  not all fasting interventions are the same and some have smaller beneficial effects.

Some benefits include weight loss, exercise endurance, immune function and more.

Research has found fasting has potential to prevent and treat chronic disease, as well as boost longevity.

Intermittent Fasting (IF) results in weight loss and also has a positive effect on metabolic markers and decreased insulin resistance.

Research says that IF led to a reduction in weight gain, better sleep propels better cardiac performance despite the age factor.

IF also  decreases oxidative stress and improves blood pressure levels.

Periodic fasting (PF) helps decrease weight, blood pressure, and abdominal circumference.

This reduces the risk factors for heart disease, diabetes, and cancer by lowering blood pressure and BMI.

It’s best advised to consult a dietitian or nutritionist before getting into it.
