Citi Open to match Andy Murray's donation to children in Ukraine

Many are still struggling amid the Ukraine war and Citi Open is coming forward to offer help to war-affected children.

Hard court tournament Citi Open organizers announced they would match Andy Murray's 2022 prize money donation.

Earlier this year, the British tennis player announced that he would donate 100% of his money towards UNICEF's relief fund.

Murray will also donate the money from his participation in the Citi Open in Washington DC.

The tournament organizers have also launched a portal for fans to give to UNICEF USA alongside Murray through every round.

Since the announcement, the three-time Grand Slam champion has donated more than $300,000.

Andy Murray is a British tennis star with a net worth of $100 million.

The winner of the tournament will earn a prize money worth $342,800.
