The 21st anniversary of the 9/11 attacks

It’s been 21 years since the 9/11 terror attack in New York.

Citizens remembered the day and paid tributes to those who lost their lives.

President Joe Biden vowed that the US would continue working to root out terrorist plots.

He called on Americans to stand up for the democracy that guarantees the right to freedom that terrorists on 9/11 sought to bury.

On September 11, 2001, the al-Qaida seized control of jets that hit the trade center's twin towers and the Pentagon.

The fourth plane was headed for Washington but crashed near Shanksville after crew members and passengers stormed the cockpit.

The attacks killed nearly 3,000 people.

By tradition, the names of the dead are read out loud by relatives.
